Villa Litta

Villa Borromeo Visconti Litta - Lainate

The entire complex of Villa Litta was designed around 1585 by Pirro I Visconti Borromeo, who turned a structure hitherto linked to agricultural use into a place of delight. In addition to the palace, Pirro also built a nymphaeum, a charming architectural complex consisting of a succession of rooms decorated with mosaics and artificial caves. The nymphaeum was built to house the Count’s large museum collection.
